We made it!

Hey The Internet,

We made it. We got through a week of 12 hour rehearsal days (noon-midnight) alive, and performed for an audience on the last night! Last night we had our invited dress rehearsal, which was a crowd full of our friends, family, members of the Dancap family, The Jersey Boys cast, and other people associated with the show. Everyone was incredibly supportive and it was wonderful to do the show for them. We had a pretty crazy afternoon, we were supposed to get into the theatre at 2 and do a run of the show before the dress that night, to solidify all the quick changes and other last minute fixes, but the theatre lost all of its power at around noon, and didn't get it back until around 4, so we didn't get to do the run, we went to a dance studio down the street and got notes instead. For a little while we were unsure if we would have to cancel the invited dress and tell the 500 invitees not to come. Alas, we were confident we could pull it off, and we rocked the house harder than ever. It was the first time we ran the show the whole way through without stopping. It was thrilling. We had a great time and now we're all enjoying a well deserved day off. I'm going to see "Where the Wild Things Are" with one of my best friends and I plan on eating more french fries, popcorn and sour patch kids than anyone could imagine. Wearing that muscle suit every night is shrinking me, I'm getting all scrawny looking!

Looking forward to our first preview on Tuesday night and I hope to see you all at the theatre very soon,

Evan Alexander Smith

  1. I saw Friday's performance and I have to say you guys blew my friends and I away! Three of us had seen the movie, but my cousin hadn't and she had just as great a time as the rest of us. It's a hilarious show and really entertaining... I have no idea how you guys do this night over night, but it seems like a lot of fun so hopefully the hard work pays off! Anyway just wanted to say thanks for the show and your voice is very beautiful. I'm telling everyone I know to go see it :)

P.S. I LOOOOVE the boys in drag! I was in stitches any time they were on stage. Send them my love.

  3. Hi Evan!
I met you yesturday after your performance.
I forgot to tell you that I bought the broadway soundtrack and I was disappointed because you truely sing WAY bettter than the broadway Melvin.
    Your voice is truely amazing!

It is kind of funny that I have been to the show twice already and It technically hasn't even started.

Hopefully I will be able to come back and meet you, Jamie and Peter again!
